The Toraja Church Sunday School (SMGT) is an organization within the Toraja Church that aims to serve children so they can know and experience Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and to nurture them into future generations of Christ. SMGT has an organizational structure down to the Congregation, Classis, Region and Synod levels, and divides services based on age groups such as Sensual Children, Young Children, Older Children and Teenagers.
The Toraja Church Sunday School (SMGT) was established by one of the OIGs within the Toraja Church with the goal of serving children so they can accept and internalize God's calling and confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. SMGT also equips church members to take on roles in Sunday School ministry.
Based on methodological considerations and the specific needs of each age group, SMGT groups its services into four classes: Sensual Children, Young Children, Older Children, and Teenagers. In recent years, it has begun expanding to include serving toddlers.
Organizationally, SMGT administrators exist in every ministry area of the Toraja Church, from the Congregation, Classis, Region, and Synod. Administrators in each ministry area are elected by the respective SMGT assembly.
